The weather is almost sunny in Croatia. The Croats themselves say that they can not live in bad or cold weather but there is always an exception. Approximately 2-3 times a year - usually in the early springtime or late fall the  Bora or Jugo will blow a very strong wind that blows for a few days and will clear the air. In autumn it can be very refreshing after a hot and muggy summer. In summer it is mostly the Maestral blowing.

The Bora is a cold wind from NE. It comes from inside the mountains. In the fall it will blow for a couples of days. In the summer it will typically blow during the night only to be replaced by the Maestral in the morning.

The Jugo is a moist wind that blows from NE. Te Jugo always brings a lot of precipitation. It blows from October to late January. Sometimes the Jugo brings reddish sand from Africa, while other times the wind turn and in just a few minutes it can be a strong Bura blowing from the NE.

The Maestral is an offshore wind blowing from the NW. Offshore winds are signs of good weather. The Maestral often starts to blow in the morning and can go on all day, but it settles during the evening and after quiet evening and night you can wake up the next morning to the same scenario again. The Maestral can be very powerfull and often you'll see waves on the water. The wind is fairly warm.

Spring is warm and you can often go swimming in April.

In the summer it can get very hot - in the summer of 2009 the temperature were about 40-42 °C in June.

In late September/early October the water temperature were 24 °C

The autumn is in generally warm and you can most often sit outside along the Riva in Trogir all year round. - except when the Bora or Jugo is blowing.
